Project Manager

• The Project Manager oversees all aspects of a customer's sequencing project(s). The Project Manager is responsible for co-ordination and completion of the project and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, analyzing data, delivering data as well as monitoring and reporting progress of the project. The Project Manager may be responsible for more than one project at a time.

• Responsible for planning the sequencing project in order to produce and deliver the sequence data within constraints such as time, price and agreed quality standards.

• Identify, analyze and manage potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by addressing issues and evaluating how more serious issues and risks might impact schedule, quality and cost.

• Be able to articulate and negotiate consensus on a final contract or scope of work.

• Identify the need for laboratory, software, computing and human resources, and take on coordination and management responsibilities in relation to resource utilization and resource development.

• Provide a team with direction and vision, including motivating people to perform, listening to people, providing feedback, recognizing strengths and providing challenges.

• Without necessarily being an expert; understand CGI technology in order to evaluate requests coming from customers and scientists and technical staff and determine what is reasonable or possible.

PhD -Biological Sciences, Human Genetics or Bioinformatics; 5+ years of experience post graduate or relevant MS with 10+ years experience.

• Must have experience in manipulating and analyzing very large data sets.

• Sequence and genotype analysis experience a must.

• In depth and proven understanding of genetics.

• Familiarity with cloning and library construction.

• Proven advanced statistical analysis skills.

• Supervisory experience highly desired.
